Amatrudo received the 2016 honor at Connecticut State Police Troop G's headquarters, according to officials.
The award, which was decided by the Northeast States Emergency Consortium (NESEC), was presented to Amatrudo in recognition of his "outstanding contributions in the field of emergency management," according to officials.
Acting Deputy Commissioner William Hackett from the Division of Emergency Management and Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, presided over the event, officials said.
Amatrudo has also worked with the Wilton CERT, the Wilton School system (public and private), the CT State Citizen Corps Advisory Board and in many other EM capacities over the past 10 years,
